Northland Pines Community Foundation

a letter from our board president - scott preisler

Wow!  It's been a very busy summer with all the social functions and now we transition into the fall and the 2025/26 school year.  These past several months, the Northland Pines Community Foundation (NPCF) has been hard at work.  I would like to update you on what has been done and also on what we currently have in the works.

As many of you know, the ERRA undertook a fundraising effort to help finish the Girls High School Locker Room Project for Northland Pines at the Dome.  Our NPCF was able to procure over $70,000 to finish the funding for this project.  This generous donation was made possible by an individual donor, Mr. Scott Turner.  A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Turner as this gift will be impactful for years to come.

Are you aware of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program?  The Vilas County Early Childhood Literacy Coalition is currently looking for donations to fund this very important project.  The NPCF now serves as the 501(c)(3) fiscal agent for this program that provides children in Vilas County ages 0-5 with one free book per month!  It is an amazing program to help start our youngest on the road to the love of learning and literacy.  Donations can be made on our website.

This fall, we have instituted the funding of Educational Enrichment Grants for our outstanding teachers.  These resources will be used for staff who wish to do student enrichment activities which need funding not available through the regular school district budget.

We have also been soliciting funds to build our Endowment Fund so the Foundation can provide resources for projects and activities for the Northland Pines community long into the future.

Our Foundation is currently recruiting 1 or 2 additional Board members to help us achieve our important mission. Our most recent addition is Josh Tilley, Assistant Principal of the Middle and High School.  We are so happy to have Josh on board!  If you are a Northland Pines alumnus, parent, or just have a love of the Northland Pines community, please contact me regarding your interest.

Lots of great things are beginning to take place at the Foundation.  We continue to look for your support to help provide resources for our Endowment Fund and other programs to improve the quality of life for the youth of the Northland Pines School District Community.  As always, if you have any ideas, questions, or you would like to get involved, please contact us.

We look forward to your support.  Thank you very much.
