The Northland Pines Community Foundation is thrilled to announce the four recipients of our first Educational Enrichment Grants.  Eleven applications were received. This was fantastic participation for this fledgling program.  

Four grants were awarded as follows:  

• St Germain Elementary School teacher Aubree Foster will receive funds for purchase of add-on Tonie Box books and characters to provide early readers with the opportunity to grow both listening and literacy skills. This grant can be shared throughout the school and will also be available for future kindergarteners. 
• Eagle River 4K teachers Kathleen Brendemihl was successful in her request to purchase visual-motor development tools such as a marble run, engineer kit, /Roll’n Go and more. As before, these tools can be shared with other 4K classes now and into the future’. 
• Land O’Lakes 3rd &4th graders will realize many new opportunities with the funds provided to add dedicated power to the school garden, providing the means to add the much-desired chicken coop.  Programming is also planned for the students to create a “Living Laboratory” where students will learn about the interdependence of different species and food systems. Ivy Lapp, 3rd &4th multi-grade teacher applied for this grant assistance. 
• The last grant awarded in this cycle has been awarded to the Eagle River 5th grade team, whose application was submitted by Catherine Libby.  With their grant, Eagle River’s 5th grade students will travel to the planetarium in Wausau for first-hand experience in space education.  

The Northland Pines Community Foundation has agreed to fund these exciting grants for a total amount of $4,075. This program cycle will begin once again in the spring of 2026. 

There are so many wonderful ideas cooking in the minds of the Northland Pines School District faculty! Our students benefit from their creativity, and one way we can assist is to support them together through this new grant program.
